Recently, history-loving Genees embarked on a meaningful journey called “Imperial Archives of the Nguyen Dynasty – Memory of a Dynasty” at the National Archives Center I. This was more than just a field trip—it was an opportunity for students to immerse themselves in the rich history of Vietnam, especially through the study of the Nguyen Dynasty’s imperial documents. These valuable records played a key role in affirming Vietnam’s national sovereignty.
During the visit, the students learned about these original administrative documents, which not only showcased the governance of the Nguyen emperors but also served as important evidence of Vietnam’s territorial integrity, particularly in issues related to borders and maritime sovereignty. They also explored the lives and legacies of the Nguyen emperors, gaining a deeper understanding of key historical decisions.
A special part of the trip was the chance to write their names in ancient characters—an activity that allowed them to connect with the culture and history in a fun way. This memorable experience helped them appreciate the significance of these historical writings.
The “Imperial Archives of the Nguyen Dynasty – Memory of a Dynasty” trip gave the Genees a unique opportunity to experience history in a lively and personal way. The knowledge they gained not only broadened their understanding but also sparked a sense of pride and responsibility for protecting our country’s sovereignty. These valuable experiences will continue to inspire them as they learn more about history in the future.
